The Middle East stands at a historic inflection point. Over the course of just a few
weeks in June 2025, Iran’s Islamic regime, long accused of supporting terror
networks and pursuing nuclear capabilities, has experienced a rapid collapse of
political control, military effectiveness, and international alliances.
What began as a regional conflict has escalated into an unprecedented joint pressure campaign by Israel and the
United States, with potential global ramifications. Here's how events unfolded:
June 14–15: The Spark and First Retaliation
The crisis was triggered by an IRGC-backed attack on the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. Though damage was minimal and
no American personnel were harmed, Israel deemed the act a “point of no return,” formally initiating a campaign to
dismantle Iran’s military capabilities and trigger regime change.
Simultaneously, massive Israeli airstrikes targeted key Iranian military sites including Mehrabad International Airport,
IRGC intelligence headquarters, and the Shiraz Electronic Industries facility. These strikes killed senior intelligence
figures like Mohammad Kazmi and destroyed missile infrastructure.
June 16: Tehran Begins to Collapse
As air raids intensified, Tehran descended into chaos. Thousands fled the city amid reports of fuel rationing,
supermarket looting, and water infrastructure breakdowns. Israeli operations expanded into Tehran’s urban areas,
achieving air dominance ahead of schedule.
Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, initially rumored to be in Mashhad, was later confirmed to be hiding in a bunker in
Lavizan. Reports indicated he accepted Moscow’s asylum offer as Israeli strikes neared his position.

Facing total collapse, Khamenei surrendered control to IRGC Commander Mohammad Pakpour, effectively abdicating
authority. The move left Iran's governance fractured and IRGC remnants retreating inland.
President Trump declared “complete and total control over the skies of Iran,” highlighting American air superiority and
deploying bombers and refueling tankers to Diego Garcia. Trump also issued an ultimatum: Iran must unconditionally
surrender or face potential U.S. military strikes on fortified nuclear sites like Fordow.
At the same time, Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi called on Iranians to prepare for a new era, signaling hopes for a post-
theocratic transition.
Strategic Setbacks and Political Isolation
The Israeli campaign has decimated Iranian air defense, reduced missile launches from dozens per volley to fewer than
ten, and disrupted communication across the country. Aerial dominance has allowed IDF jets to strike at will, even
during daylight in central Tehran.
With the U.S. vetoing an Israeli plan to assassinate Khamenei, Israel focused on decapitating other regime pillars,
scientists, intelligence chiefs, and IRGC leadership. Rumors abound that Mossad operations were responsible for
coordinated assassinations via drone and car bomb.
Moscow and Beijing have pulled away diplomatically, leaving Iran increasingly isolated. Even longtime allies have begun
evacuating personnel from Tehran.

Natanz as “the next Auschwitz” if allowed to go operational. Trump has invoked his 2017 Genocide Prevention pledge,
affirming that America will not allow the destruction of Israel.
